Hey everyone, today is my eleventh day in good ole’ Gainesville, Georgia. I am super thankful to be able to say that, thanks to an abundance of generosity, I am fully funded! I actually became fully funded thirty minutes before leaving my house. If that is not confirmation from the Lord, I do not know what is! My prayer had always been to be funded by the time I leave, and I started honestly having feelings of doubt. Though, even through my doubt, the Lord was steadfast and provided.
To be honest, life here is not always easy, but it is fruitful. The passion that my squad has for loving the Lord is absolutely beautiful. It is such a cool thing to be surrounded by people who want to dedicate themselves to loving others as Christ did. My squad has had a lot of spontaneous worship sessions which are so precious. I have never been in such a powerful worship setting where everyone sings, and even shouts, words of praise to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ! He is a GOOD and STEADFAST God.
Not only the intentionality of the community, but being here has shown the intentionality of God! What a loving and intentional father he is- He always meets us right where we are at! A cool testimony of this is how the Lord speaks to you through his word and the people around you. Ever since boot camp, Psalm 23 has been on my heart. Psalm 23 is written by David, and says “
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,a]”>[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
For my life, I have struggled with anxiety. This Psalm always allow me to refocus on the Lord and worship him for his goodness. A few days ago I wrote this Psalm in my journal and was praying over it. Then two days later my team leader prayed over a scripture for me, and sure enough, gave me the exact portion of Psalm 23 that I wrote in my journal. Two days after that, my squad mate wrote me a note and also pointed me to Psalm 23. Thank you Jesus for pointing me to the truth that even when I am struggling and feel alone, these are lies because I lack NOTHING, for He is with me and guides me. Although, his guiding does not always fit my human perception of where I will be going.
Life here in Georgia is a lot slower than I am used to. I am used to a constant go-go-go, so this restful stay-stay-stay mentality for this month is definitely different. It is really amazing that my sole purpose during this period of training is to love God and love people! I am learning what it means to have a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. He is our friend and loves us more than we could ever know!
My day is normally filled with devotionals, sessions, chores, and free time to just hang out! I will do a detailed day in the life blog in the future!
On October 16, we will leave for our domestic outreach in Houma, Louisiana where we will partner with The Samaritan’s Purse in order to help with the aftermath of hurricane Ida.
If you all could keep praying for me to abide in the Lord and trust his plan for me. Pray that I will release my control and have a bolder faith in the Lord, specifically his provision– because the Lord WILL provide!
Thank you all so much for reading my blogs and supporting me! Also thank you so much for all the financial support you have generously donated- thanks for equipping me to go on this journey as a disciple of Christ!
Please reach out with any questions or just to say hey! I would love to talk to you! My email is [email protected], or you can just comment here and I will reach out if ya want!
